Bad boy novelist Johnny Murphy had it all - a best-seller, fast car and fat bank account. But Johnny soon fell from grace because Johnny, just like the greats he idolizes, is a degenerate drunk and chronic gambler. Now, with booze induced writer's block and mounting underworld debts, Johnny must flee to Budapest to write the only gig his blacklisted status will allow him - a B grade DTV action vehicle. But old habits die hard and as Murphy's Law would dictate, Johnny soon finds himself sidetracked and smashed in a five star Belgrade hotel owned by retired Serbian underworld figure Srdjan Blagojevic. To make matters worse, the cash advance on the DTV film job is missing in action and Johnny's turned his hotel room into a warzone. Broke and with no other options, Johnny agrees to quit the action film and write Srdjan's memoirs as payment for the drunken rampage. But that's just the tip of the iceberg for Johnny because as he digs deeper into Srdjan's past, he finds himself at the mercy ...
