Charilaos Maraziotis (Nikos Stavridis) is a shopkeeper who owes the whole market and is in danger of going to jail, both because of his creditors and because of IKA and the tax administration. Iro is his secretary and fiancee, because she is poor, decides to make a rich marriage with an arrangement. The mid-person is Antigone, who wants to get Charilaos to marry her half-sister, Ismene, who is in love with her peer-to-peer Thanos. Iro and Ismene, who have learned about Charilaos' plans, conspire to prevent unwanted developments. Charilaos is forced to portray the madman and closes himself in a freak. His lenders, once informed that they are crazy, change their attitude towards them, they are promised and relieved of their debts, thus escaping the prison and marrying Iro.
