The beginning of the sixties. Coming reduction of the armed forces. A brave general, a convinced bachelor and a desperate womanizer Anton Ulybabov receives an order to marry within two weeks - otherwise he would be threatened with dismissal from the army. Going in search of the bride, the general flies to Moscow. While still on the plane, the general prevents a terrorist act, saving all passengers. Having come to a professional matchmaker, the general finds a bride: it happens that this bride is a stewardess whom Ulyubabov met on the plane. Since childhood, the girl has a prejudice not to marry the military. Her first husband, a military test pilot, died, and the fortuneteller even before that had guessed at all not to mess with the military. Seeing the general next to the matchmaker, the girl simply runs away. The general comes to visit his Moscow friend. But it so happens that a friend is not at home, and his neighbor in the communal apartment - the same stewardess - opens the door for him.
