At the opening of the story two stories run in parallel: a girl is talking to her friend on her phone standing nearby the main character Paul himself having a conversation with his alter ego. He is interrupted by the girl who doesn't understand why he is talking to himself. She is crossed that he is disturbing her flow and ask him to move away. In his conversation, Paul is arguing with his alter ego until he finally kills him. He then decides to end his life and jumps into the river. There within sixty minutes he will re-live his entire life. Thoughts and images come hurtling back; his alter ego, his previous girlfriend, all the sex, the violence and loss of identity among the life of others: the marine life deep inside the water.
