Re-Imagining Jesus retells the foundational Judeo-Christian story from the historical and spiritual perspective of The Urantia Book. It begins with a brief visit to the world of pre-Hebrew desert tribes and quickly moves into the story of Melchizedek. Melchizedek came to earth two thousand years before Jesus to foster the evolution of a monotheistic deity concept within the Hebrew tribes. This was to prepare a context within which Jesus subsequently could come to reveal the personal character of that monotheistic deity. From Melchizedek and Abraham the story moves to John the Baptist and his preparation of the immediate religious environment for the appearance of Jesus. Jesus first appears in the story at the time of his baptism by John. The film then takes the viewer to the wilderness region in Jordan where Jesus spent the forty days in the wilderness.
